Glitter stripes x roses
These were my birthday nails ! Remove promptly as I didn’t really like them. Ah
The My Melody on the ring finger is a nail tattoo. I bought 4 packs of different designs from a shop in plaza singapura, i forgot the name but it sells nail stuff , decoden & you can custom make a watch there. THERE IS ONLY ONE SHOP LIKE THAT.
Please dnt buy the nail tattoos. Somehow the manufacturer badly fucked up & if you apply it properly it turns out BACKWARDS (shows the white base not the cartoon) & you need to carefully flip it over. If you try to be clever & peel the paper off instead of the film so it turns out facing front , it doesn’t come off the film , it’s stuck there. DO YOU KNOW HOW ANNOYED I WAS !! But I have 4 packets , I will have to use them ……
Update : wow I haf really bad experience wif the town area huh. The shop is Beadtlesweet , just avoid the nail stickers / decals they are awful quality. However the crystals / decoden they sell are great , my #1 choice.
Thank you girls for your help / messages ! I bought Sally Hansen nail hardener at $7 , it’s the cheapest & as you can see it “camouflages” the peeling / scratches. Unfortunately it doesn’t heal it but it’s a start ! I dnt wish to buy a $17 nail growth or protection topcoat as naturally I never fuck up my own nails to require such things , it would be a waste. Not t forget my $40 for my completely unworthy Gelish. *unamused*
As you cn compare the before & after topcoat photos , I guess this is why it’s dangerous t go to a nail parlour you dnt know. You wont realise the damage until after you remove the manicure , since even water will camouflage any peeling or scratched nails.
Side note @junyingdiva replied me on Insta & I am fangirling bc have you seen the nails she does , YOU SHOULD. ( I’m gonna tune out the part about the fungus if not i will cry )
3 weeks ago I walked into a random nail parlour at Far East Plaza & spontaneously decided to get a Gelish manicure. I felt quite a few nicks as my manicurist was not only rude but a bit rough, but I brushed it off as nothing serious. I also felt a slight burning sensation & discomfort from the UV light but I assumed it was normal as I last did Gelish 1 year ago, I couldn’t remember if it was natural. So I did one colour, $40. I added my own nailart & diamonds etc at home myself.
Yesterday I decided the lifting was too much so I started filing off my Gelish. Firstly, I know how to file it off. This isn’t the first time I’ve done Gelish or removed it myself - I ALWAYS remove it myself [I don’t wish to pay someone $10 just to file it off] to reveal healthy long nails. As you know [or can see] from my blog, I am an expert at nailart or anything related to nails. I didn’t cause this myself.
Once I started filing off the Gelish I noticed some peeling but I assumed it was the Gelish clear basecoat that I didn’t file off. After a while I realised it was my own nails peeling, unhealthy and fragile. This must mean that either the UV light burnt my nails [impossible?] or most likely, the manicurist filed my nails too rough, in the wrong direction, with the EDGE of the nail file, causing peeling that will take at least one month to grow out, side effects = sensitivity/fragility.
You may ask “well, why didn’t you notice or stop her?”. If you paint your nails regularly, they will turn yellow. So to get rid of the yellow, I file the width not the length. After filing they will be completely covered in dust residue- actually the utmost top layer of your nails that you filed off- but once you paint on a clear topcoat, the white residue disappears. That’s why my nails looked perfectly fine at the parlour.
Well, I had to cut off about 3mm of my nails down to the nailbed as they were so fragile I could literally push them up/down. They also feel very sensitive, I am uncomfortable just HOLDING A PENCIL & I have an admission test that decides whether I’m accepted to college in 6 days. *claps* The peeling area will take at least 1 month to grow out.
This isn’t vanity, this is very unhealthy and downright SHIT SERVICE. Unfortunately I don’t remember what fucking nail parlour I went to, but next week I am going to town & I will recognise it, then I’ll rage online again on every social media platform you can name.
If you have had this problem / had bad service at FEP / heard of horror stories regarding FEP nail parlours / know how to salvage my ruined nails , please let me know [my contact details are below] , your help will be greatly appreciated. I also hope you can warn your friends or spread this message.
